We're sitting at a lovely restaurant at a piazza in Pompei, the four of us sipping some local wine and people watching.
Dennis: "Wow. All those little kids are speaking Ita... Oh."
Cue hysterical laughter.
Belfast Blast
We came to Belfast for the express purpose of going to the Titanic Belfast Museum. It was is Peekaloo's bucket list so we did it. She loved it, which is great, but the rest of us were underwhelmed. The exhibit is interesting and we were able to see actual artifacts (like the letter below) recovered from the wreckage but the rest can be better enjoyed by watching a Titanic Discovery Channel show. Interesting tidbit: there was only a single Black person onboard the Titanic. He died but his wife and children survived. The best part of the Belfast visit for me was getting onboard the SS Nomadic, sister ship of the Titanic but MUCH smaller. It is, after all, a tender ship (no pun intended). The Nomadic is the last White Star Line ship in existence. Fun fact (credit to Zoey): the White Star Line merged with Cunard, which later acquired Carnival.
